Getting the most from life in San Francisco
Things get so busy… The days come and go, and we’re just trying to get through challenging stuff at work, advance in our career, be able to afford living in such an expensive place. In the meantime, it’d be nice to enjoy ourselves a little, right? Hang with friends or family? Relax a bit? Maybe have a love life?
But along comes long hours at work. Stress. Difficult people. [Ugh.] Perfectionism. We may push ourselves a bit, because that’s always helped us to achieve.
And speaking of a love life, why can’t relationships just be easy? Misunderstandings take up so much time and energy. Arguments are annoying, especially when it’s the same argument, over and over again.
It can feel like we’re juggling so much, trying to keep it all together. This stuff can be distracting, keeping us up at night, affecting our concentration during the day. Once we actually have a minute to stop and think, we may find ourselves wondering, “Should it really be like this?” “I’m supposed to be having an easier time than this, right?”

Hi, I’m Andrew…
…Trial attorney-turned-psychotherapist. The legal profession fosters an analytical sense. A sense of thoroughness. An ability to communicate, and to resolve conflict. I’m grateful for this experience. But over time I wondered if I could make more of a positive impact by venturing outside of the legal system.
So I dove into the world of mental health, and it’s been completely fascinating. Trainings? Workshops? Piles of books about this stuff? Yes please!
You’re talking to a serious therapy nerd with a voracious appetite for learning.
Learning about:
🔎 Why couples wind up in the same patterns, over and over;
🔎 What we really want in relationships;
🔎 What causes communication to derail;
🔎 Why we feel angry, so quickly;
🔎 How to handle difficult people and situations at work;
🔎 How to feel more confident in social situations;
🔎 How overly-critical parenting affects us in later relationships;
🔎 How parenting that emphasizes achievement (more than anything else) affects us in later relationships;
🔎 How we can heal from upsetting or disturbing things that have happened to us;
🔎 Why we can’t sleep;
🔎 Why our thoughts are racing;
🔎 Why it’s so tough to relax… and what to do about it;
🔎 Why we struggle to get through the day;
🔎 How to figure out what fulfills us, what we’re meant to be doing in life;
🔎 How understanding the brain can help us to connect to those around us.

KEY LEGAL AND ETHICAL ISSUES IN TELEHEALTH
Combining the “analytical” part with the “serious therapy nerd” part…
The net effect is an ability to discuss relationships, human interactions, emotions, anxiety, depression, etc. in a concrete manner that a busy professional can relate to... and use in everyday life. Who’s got time for endless psychobabble when the point is for things to get better? Why not try new skills, adopt new approaches, and make some progress… sooner rather than later?
Let’s start tackling these issues. Together we can develop some insights, figure out some patterns, and identify practical solutions. That way, you’ll have the mental bandwidth to do more of whatever matters to you.
